Obituary for Christopher T. Berkery

Christopher T. Berkery, 23, of Fayetteville died suddenly on Tuesday. Chris was born in Syracuse and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and was working and attending college at the time of his death. Chris was compassionate and kind spirited. He was intellectually gifted, quick witted and he possessed a wry sense of humor. He loved many types of music and was a regular on the Wescott music scene.
He loved his family, his friends and his dog, Tally. His passing has left a gaping hole in the hearts of those who loved him. His voice, gentle demeanor, and smiling presence are so dearly missed.
His parents pray that his death may provide an impetus to those struggling with life’s challenges to seek assistance from God and those who love them.
He was predeceased by grandparents, Mary Jane and Bill Berkery. He leaves his mother and father, Darcy and Dr. William Berkery; his brothers, Billy, John and Matt; his grieving grandparents, Joyce and Mert Smith; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Randy Williams, Rosemary and Bob Hausen, Ellen and Tom Berkery, Regina and Bruce Haywood, Clare and Vincent O’Neill and Kathy and John Berkery. His memory will be cherished by his numerous beloved cousins.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, September 17th at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 am Friday, September 18th at the Church.
