Nancy Wood Greiner, 85, of Kirkville, began her new life in the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven after a brief illness, in Chandler, AZ on Tuesday April 26, 2016. She was not alone at passing, Nancy had many praying for her, and her daughter Kelly by her side.
Nancy was born on 9/18/1930 in Syracuse, NY to father George Wood and mother Lucy Delatour Wood.
After raising her three children, Nancy, went back to school to become a nurse and worked many years at St Joe’s hospital in Syracuse, before moving to Haines City, FL where she resided for 20 years.
Nancy was a joy to be around and touched many with her infectious laugh and beautiful smile. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and the company of her family. Nancy displayed an inspirational passion for life and the beauty of nature. In trusting that “God will always provide” she led a life full of rich experiences, meaningful relationships and humble gratitude.
Nancy is survived by her husband Donald Greiner of Manlius, son Patrick Greiner (Teri) of Kirkville, daughter Kolleen “Kelly” Gilbert of Chandler, AZ, daughter Donna Greiner of AZ. Six granddaughters Meaghan Karoleski, Nicole Fry, Maureen Button, Alexandra Greiner, Lauren Greiner, Marissa Greiner. Three great-grandchildren Cloe, Josephine and Ronnie. Sister Patricia Perkins and brother James Wood. Several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 4-7pm May 19th at the R. H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., Minoa, NY. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 401 N. Main St. Minoa, NY at 11am Friday. Burial at Pine Plains Cemetery in Kirkville will follow the Mass.
Donations can be made to the ASPCA, Goodwill or a charity of your choice.
